Technical SEO Services

Good content can’t rank if Google can’t crawl, index or understand it. Technical problems such as blocked pages, broken redirects, duplicate URLs, missing canonicals and slow templates quietly hold sites back. We find what is stopping your pages from being indexed and ranked, fix it or work with your developer to fix it, and then check the results in Search Console.

Technical problems we fix

  • Pages not indexed: “Crawled, currently not indexed”, “Discovered, not indexed” and pages blocked by robots.txt or a stray noindex tag.
  • Duplicate and competing URLs: parameter URLs, http/https and www versions, tag and archive pages, and missing or wrong canonical tags.
  • Redirects and broken links: redirect chains, 404s that still get links, and internal links pointing to redirected URLs.
  • Sitemaps: sitemaps that list noindexed, redirected or missing pages, or leave out the pages that matter.
  • Speed and Core Web Vitals: heavy images, render-blocking scripts, too many plugins or apps, and slow Largest Contentful Paint on mobile.
  • Structured data: missing, broken or duplicated schema for organisations, services, products, articles and FAQs.
  • Site structure: important pages buried too deep, orphan pages with no internal links, and messy navigation.
  • Security basics that affect SEO: mixed content, exposed usernames and hacked or spam pages.

How we work

1. Technical audit

We crawl your site, review Search Console’s indexing and Core Web Vitals reports, and check templates by hand. You get a prioritised list: what’s wrong, the evidence, why it matters and how to fix it. Issues that affect many pages or your money pages come first.

2. Fixes, done for you or with your developer

On WordPress and Shopify we can make most fixes directly with your approval. On custom builds we write clear tickets for your developer and check the work. Anything risky, such as URL changes or theme edits, is agreed with you first and tested before it goes live.

3. Verification

After each batch of fixes we re-crawl, validate fixes in Search Console where possible and recheck speed. You get a log of every change: what it was before, what we changed and how we confirmed it.

4. Monitoring

Technical SEO isn’t one and done. New plugins, theme updates and content changes can bring problems back. We can check indexing, errors and speed monthly so issues are caught early.

What you get

  • A prioritised technical audit with evidence for every issue
  • A change log for every fix we make
  • Before and after checks in Search Console and PageSpeed Insights
  • Plain-English explanations, so you know why each fix matters

Platforms we work on

WordPress (including Rank Math and Yoast setups), Shopify, and most other CMSs with your developer’s help. For Shopify-specific issues such as duplicate product URLs, see our Shopify SEO services and our Shopify SEO checklist.

What we won’t promise

Nobody can guarantee rankings or a fixed date for indexing. Google decides what to index and how to rank it. What we can promise is that every fix is explained, recorded and checked, so you can see exactly what changed.

Technical SEO works best with good pages and links

Fixing crawling and indexing removes the blockers. To rank, pages also need clear, useful content and links from relevant sites. See our on-page SEO services and guest posting services, or our broader SEO services.

Technical SEO FAQ

Do you need access to my website?

For the audit, read access to Search Console is enough, along with a crawl of the public site. For fixes, we ask only for the access the work needs, and you can remove it at any time.

Will you change my URLs or theme?

Only if you approve it. URL changes always get redirects, and theme changes are made on a copy or staging site first where possible.

How long does an audit take?

It depends on the size of the site. We’ll give you a timeline when we quote, after a first look at your site.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the site and how much you want us to fix. Tell us about your site and we’ll send a quote.

How soon will I see results?

Some fixes, such as removing a stray noindex, can show in Search Console within weeks. Ranking changes usually take longer and depend on your content and competition.
